Pastor-Teacher, Countryside Bible Church

Tom has served as Pastor-Teacher at Countryside Bible Church since October 2003. Before moving to Texas, he served for 16 years at Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, California in various roles, including as an Elder, Sunday School teacher, and Senior Associate Pastor and personal assistant to John MacArthur. Before joining the staff at Grace Community Church, Tom was Managing Director of Grace to You, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the international radio, tape, print and internet ministry. Tom also had the opportunity to be a contributor and editor for several portions of the MacArthur Study Bible notes.  

Tom completed his B.A. and M.A. at Bob Jones University and served as a faculty member while taking Ph.D. classes in New Testament Interpretation. He was also an adjunct faculty member of The Master’s College and Seminary, from which he received an honorary Doctor of Divinity (D.D.) in 2013. He served for many years on the governing Boards of Grace to You and The Master’s University and Seminary. 

Tom’s teaching ministry is featured on The Word Unleashed (www.thewordunleashed.org). In addition to his role at Countryside, he is active in training international pastors in expository preaching and has traveled to Russia, Europe and the Middle East.  

Tom and his wife Sheila have three daughters, Lauren, Katie, and Jessica.
